Harlem River Yacht Club started as a name to release music with my friends—a phrase that spoke to our dreams of decadence and success, things we didn’t grow up with but aspired to.
History teaches us that when a people are oppressed, their art is often the first to be destroyed. Artists are the voices of resistance, painting and writing about fear, faith, and hope.
Our events are ports of call—block parties, art shows, performances, and films—each one a dock where community can gather, refuel, and remember what it means to be seen and celebrated. Through partnerships with local artists and institutions, including Bronx Arts, we’re building bridges to the shoreline—employing over two dozen creatives to turn Harlem’s riverbanks into galleries, classrooms, and sanctuaries.
